Senior Class President
17 August 2023
Position Assessment: As senior class president, I have been busy preparing for the rest of the school year. I started designing senior merchandise in the middle of July and we got final previews for the designs at the end of July. We had a presale for the merch during Pow Wow, which was very successful. I also attended core camp towards the end of July. My officer team bonded and started planning for homecoming. The theme was officially announced on the first day of school, so I immediately started putting together an Amazon order for supplies. I need to make a purchase order so that I can order my first round of products, and then order more later if something comes up. The senior officer team also planned Senior Sunrise, which occurred on the first day of school. We ordered donuts, water, and balloons for the event. I also called Ripon P.D. to inform them of the event. It was a great experience and a fun event because over half of the senior class showed up to participate. Lastly, the senior officer team had a meeting with Mr. Yonan to discuss the Disney trip at the end of the year. We talked about getting food and water, organizing students on the buses, and any other responsibilities that we need to prepare for.
Standing Committee: I am a part of the balloon crew for the first time this year. On the first day of school, we blew up balloons to hang up at the front of the school to welcome students to campus. I am also a part of the signs committee. The senior officer team set up signs in the front of the school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday that said, “Welcome Back!” This is another way we made the students feel appreciated on campus during the first week of school.
Special Committee: I am looking forward to joining a special committee for the Back to School Dance on Saturday, August 26. I am also hoping to join the special committee for the Kyoto students because I would love to be involved in helping them during their stay at Ripon High School.
Mentorship Evaluation: I completed the mentorship assignment that Payton gave the class, which was to send her our mentor’s contact information on our phones. I have enjoyed working with Addy because we are close family friends, so I knew her well before she joined the program. I have helped her build her website and make social media posts for her job because I was an Athletics Commissioner previously.
Concerns/Change: One concern I have is that there are a lot of side conversations happening in class. I have noticed that because we are in a small space, some students have to sit in weird places to fit in the classroom, but they are taking advantage of that and hiding to have side conversations. I would like that to change so everyone is participating in daily activities instead of the same few students.
Positive Comment: I am so thankful for Allie Camara. Having her on my officer team has made my life so much easier. She is on top of everything and she is such a hard worker. Anytime I ask her to do something, I know that she is going to do an amazing job because she is so thorough with her work and she loves being an officer. I have loved working with her and I am so excited to continue to plan events with her throughout senior year. I am proud to call her one of my best friends.
Core Principles: I love the core principles that we chose for the school year. “Be Impeccable” is my favorite principle. I have followed that principle by staying on top of my work and getting ahead of the game. I started planning homecoming far earlier than expected because I want it to be amazing. I also think that planning ahead makes Morty’s life easier, so it is a win win. “Your Puzzle Piece Matters” is an important principle. I have followed this by assisting my mentor and making sure that I am there if Addy needs any help. I know that she is a valuable part of this program, so I am supporting her to make sure that she knows that as well. “Evolve and Grow with Change” is another favorite principle. I think that being able to evolve with change makes you stronger. Change is inevitable in life, so I use past experiences to adapt to certain changes to support myself and the people around me. “The Beacon of Empowerment” is another powerful principle that I have been trying to follow, but could use some improvement. I have been more intentional with the other principles than this one because it is easier to follow the other ones. I will try to make sure that I am inspiring others in my class to be the best versions of themselves and work hard to succeed inside and outside of this class.
My Impact: I broke tradition and decided to have Senior Sunrise at Mistlin instead of the catwalk. I wanted to make sure that there was a spacious environment so that everyone felt included, but had the freedom to move around where they pleased. It was an extremely successful event because over half of the senior class participated, which is so amazing. I look forward to making any changes that need to be made in the future to ensure that the Class of 2024 had the best senior year possible.

September 2023
Ava Brocchini
Senior Class President
26 September 2023
Position Assessment: September is a busy month for class officers. I finished up class merchandise orders with my officer team and they were delivered to the high school about a week ago. We took inventory on shirts, hoodies, and crew necks. We plan to distribute them to our class after the homecoming pep rally on Wednesday. In terms of homecoming, we have completed multiple purchase orders to buy supplies off of Amazon. Our first round of orders were delivered last week, so we started to build the float on Saturday after spending two weeks organizing the designs. We also designed the window, poster, and lemonade stand while choreographing the lip sync dance. Dance practices have been going well and there is a lot of participation throughout the senior class which is exciting. In addition to homecoming, we have been working with Mr. Yonan on the Disneyland trip. Last week, we helped our advisory classes sign up for the trip if they needed any assistance. We also had a senior officer meeting with Morty to start discussing graduation and formulate our class motto.
Standing Committee: I am a part of the balloon crew this year. We came to school early to blow up balloons for the first rally of the year. We used them to decorate each class section in the gym. We also helped decorate for the Back to School Dance by blowing up neon balloons. Additionally, we blew up balloons on a Friday for a spirit bomb. I am also a part of the signs committee. The senior officer team set up signs in the front of the school during club rush to invite the student body to join us as we sign up for different clubs around campus.
Special Committee: I was a part of the decoration committee for the Back to School Dance and I blew up balloons to decorate the MUB. I also joined the candidate rally committee for homecoming, so I am looking forward to helping Jenna with that when she gives me an assignment.
Mentorship Evaluation: I completed the mentorship assignment that Payton gave the class, which was to get together with our mentor to create a set of goals for the school year ahead. Addy had a lot of goals that aligned with mine, so we made a list that reflected both of our goals. I have also been helping Addy with Powder Puff a lot because I have been in her position before. She has had a lot of questions, so I am trying to help her execute this event so that it is successful this year.
Concerns/Change: One concern I have is that people are not turning their work on time. I have heard this mentioned multiple times in class. I know that everyone is busy with homecoming activities and other classes, but it is so important to make sure that you are getting your work done on time so that you maintain your grade in this class. I hope that this changes in the future so that everyone in class is being responsible.
Positive Comment: I would like to give my positive comment to Devin. He has been working really hard with Addy and Eric to make sure that powder puff is going to be perfect and successful. They have been open to receiving help so I have tried to give them advice when I can, but I honestly do not think that they need it because they are doing such a good job. I do not remember preparing for the event as much as they are, so I think it is going to be amazing this year.
Core Principles: The core principles that I have been following the most this month are "Be Impeccable", "The Beacon of Empowerment", and "Evolve and Grow with Change". I think I need to work on "Your Puzzle Piece Matters" more because I have been set in my ways for the past week. With homecoming preparations, I like to have a plan and stick to it, but I need to remember that it is important to get other people's perspectives and ideas so that we can win the competitions. I have been getting better at that because I realized that my ideas become even better when I get feedback from other people in my class.
My Impact: I have been helping Addy with powder puff whenever the athletics commissioners have a question. They are all new to the event, so I know how stressful it can be to organize it for the first time. I have also been helping Addy and other underclassmen with their work in leadership if they need any help. For example, I helped Colt a lot with the freshman class t-shirt procedure form because it was the first time the freshman representatives had to fill one out.

October/November/December 2023
Ava Brocchini
Senior Class President
11 December 2023
Position Assessment: The senior class has been working on a variety of events throughout fall. At the beginning of October, we had homecoming. We worked together to design a float, lemonade stand, window, lip sync dance, and gym poster. In the end, we ended up winning. After homecoming, we cleaned out our spirit boxes and took inventory on what we had leftover. We ordered new boxes to put our spirit items in because the old ones were starting to break. Then, the class did praises, which were read by the senior class officers for two days. At the beginning of November, the senior officers started to plan for Warm and Fuzzy week. We filled out out PO's for the Christmas tree and lemonade stand. We made our tree gingerbread themed and our stand was fireplace themed. We also passed out candy canes on the day of the night rally. Lastly, the senior class officers started to plan Winterfest. We had a meeting with Morty to discuss what competitions the class will be doing and how we will vote for our spirit champions. Our theme is Taylor Swift, so we are brainstorming ideas for the class competitions and turning in PO's to start ordering supplies.
Personally, I have worked on a variety of leadership activities, such as the CASL essays, military cards, Hughson pen pals, snap raise, community service cards, holiday door posters, writing my speech, helping the sophomores clean up after formal, and finishing my final.
Standing Committee: I have helped balloon crew make arches, bundles, and individual balloons for different events. We blew up balloons for the "Thank you for lifting me up" activity during Dude Be Nice week. We also gave girls league around seventy balloons to hand to the Dude Be Nice winner, Mr. Herrin. After Dude Be Nice, balloon crew had to make pillars for the yearbook rally on December 8. In addition to balloon crew, I am a part of the signs committee with the senior officer team. We have put up signs before school for homecoming, Dude Be Nice, and Warm and Fuzzy week.
Special Committee: I was a team leader for my CASL group this year. We brainstormed ideas and wrote an essay about how our leadership program uses feedback to improve. I also helped the sophomore officer team clean up after Winter Formal, even though this was technically not a special committee.
Mentorship Evaluation: I completed the mentorship assignment that Payton gave the class, which was to make an Instagram post publicizing our leadership fundraiser. I also completed the door decoration posters with Addy, which was super fun. We are both artistic, so they turned out great. Addy has been doing a great job as Athletics Commissioner. I can tell that she is working hard and she is eager to learn because she is always asking me questions. Recently, I have been helping her prepare for her speech next semester. I think she is going to do a great job.
Concerns/Change: As the semester is coming to a close, people are getting tired. There have been a lot of absences recently because people are choosing not to go to school. I have been guilty of missing school too, but I was sick. There are a lot of people skipping out on classes because they are getting tired of going to school. I get that everyone is tired, but we need to be showing up for class and each other every day to finish out the semester strong.
Positive Comment: I would like to give my positive comment to Jenna. She has been doing a great job as our ASB President and she is a great friend. She has gone above and beyond with every student's evaluation and I am so proud of all of the hard work she has put in to improve the leadership program. I have no doubt that she will keep up the good work because she is one of the most dedicated people I know.
Core Principles: The core principles that I have been following the most this month are"Your Puzzle Piece Matters", "The Beacon of Empowerment", and "Evolve and Grow with Change". I think I need to work on "Be Impeccable" more because there is a lot that I can do to improve the work that I do as senior class president. I have been procrastinating some of my work and I need to break that habit before it completely takes over. I can also do a better job at managing the rest of my officer team because I do not demand excellence as much as I should. I have been very lenient and I pick up extra work because I feel guilty, which needs to stop.
My Impact: I have made an impact on our community through my role as Miss Ripon. I have been able to make connections with people throughout town and serve them in all of the ways that I can. In the middle of November, we began preparing for the next round of competitions to crown the next queen. I have been helping all of the candidates who are running to fill my position when my time ends. There are nine girls from Ripon High this year, so I have been doing everything that I can to make them feel supported as they step out of their comfort zones.

January 2024
Ava Brocchini
Senior Class President
30 January 2024
Position Assessment: The main event for the month of January is Winterfest. We started planning the event in November, but there were many obstacles that we had to overcome along the way. I worked with Elias and Ricky to plan the kick off rally to announce Winterfest court. I also worked on the gym poster, lemonade stand, and shopping cart at my house with some help from my classmates. We won the gym poster and lemonade stand competition, but we struggled with the shopping cart. Overall, we won the week as a whole. On Thursday, we announced the spirit champions at the varsity girls basketball game, which was super fun. I participated in all of the spirit days throughout the week too. Now, we are working on the procedure form to turn into Morty by the end of the week.
Aside from Winterfest, I have been working to secure someone for my mock interview. I found two people that could interview me with the help of my dad because he has a lot of business connections. I have also been helping people in class find interviewers because I know a lot of people that could help with different careers. In addition, I signed up to volunteer for the Almond Blossom parking lot and my mom is going to help as well. I have also been practicing my speech because I am presenting it to the class this week.
Standing Committee: I am a part of the balloon crew and we made bunches of red and white balloons for the Winterfest kickoff rally. In addition to the balloon crew, I am also a part of the signs committee. We put up signs almost every morning during Winterfest week. The only times we could not put up the signs was when it was raining outside.
Special Committee: I helped Jenna with the coronation committee for Winterfest, but she did the bulk of the work like ordering sashes and flowers. I am also in charge of the Tribe Awards committee again this year, but I have not started working on the event yet because I need to find a trainee.
Mentorship Evaluation: Addy and I worked individually on our mentorship projects for this month because we both had to make a vision board. I did send her an example to help her make her own. I have also been helping her with her website, especially since we started building the professional part to prepare for mock interviews. Overall, I love working with her because she is like a little sister to me. It is easy to help her because she works very hard on her events. Lately, I have been helping her with planning dodgeball too.
Concerns/Change: One concern I have is specific to the senior class. Since we are nearing the end of our high school career, a lot of people in class are checking out. There has not been a lot of support for each other, which leaves the bulk of all our work on the few people who are still making an effort to do their job. I hope this changes soon because it is not the most stable situation to be in.
Positive Comment: I would like to give my positive comment to Jenna and Aliesha. They helped me the most with all of the Winterfest competitions, so I am super grateful for both of them. We had a lot of fun painting the poster and lemonade stand together, along with building the shopping cart. I would not have been able to complete everything without them, so I am thankful for all of their help because they gave up their free time to support me.
Core Principles: The core principles that I have been following the most this month are"Your Puzzle Piece Matters", "The Beacon of Empowerment", and "Be Impeccable". I think I need to work on "Evolve and Grow with Change" more because I had to do a lot of adapting in the past few weeks. I did the best that I could, but I think there is a lot that I could have done better. I should not have put as much work on myself because it caused a lot of stress and anxiety throughout Winterfest. I need to learn who I can and can't trust because I had to evolve many events due to a lack of support from my classmates. I need to do a better job at managing my officer team because I pick up a lot of extra work when I shouldn't have to.
My Impact: I have been supporting a lot of the new girls at softball recently to make sure that they feel comfortable. As a returning team captain, it is my job to encourage my teammates and help them if they need it. I am super excited for this season and all of the new girls that are trying out this year. I am confident that they will do a good job and I will continue to support them throughout the rest of the season.

February/March 2024
Ava Brocchini
Senior Class President
21 March 2024
Position Assessment: February and March do not have any major events that involve the senior class, but there is a lot of work being done to prepare for the future. In February, I volunteered with my mom for the Almond Blossom Festival by helping with parking at the carnival. I also designed my elder project and got it approved. I presented it to the class at the end of the month, and I am now working on completing my community service project. We have also had officer meetings with Morty to discuss graduation, the senior gift, college reveal, and other events that are coming up for the senior class. As of now, we are planning to purchase a new podium for the senior class gift. We also filled out a purchase order for black sharpies that will be used on senior yearbook distribution, per Mrs. Ochoa's request. We made the college reveal invites and distributed them to all of the seniors who signed up to participate. We also distributed caps and gowns to the senior class. In addition, I have been working on my mock interview. I also did a lot of work throughout the week of The Challenge for my committee along with completing the mentorship assignment. I have also began looking at balloon arches to purchase for Tribe Awards and I will be filling out a PO to get started soon.
Standing Committee: I am a part of the balloon crew and we have been busy recently! At the beginning of February, we made bunches of balloons for each counselor at RHS in honor of National Counselor Week. We also blew up balloons for the gym on Eighth Grade Day, per link crew's request. I also helped blow up balloons for college reveal invites even though that did not involve all of the committee members.
Special Committee: I am a part of the Gift to Students committee for The Challenge. My main role throughout the week of preparation was designing publicity templates for the event that will be in May. I designed Instagram posts, made announcements, and created templates for physical posters for the End of the Year Dance and the lunchtime activity.
Mentorship Evaluation: Addy and I have been working together a lot the past month. We completed a mentorship assignment together about the five dysfunctions of a team. We also colored a booklet and wrote a letter to give each other. In addition to the required assignments, I also helped and supported her with dodgeball by coming every day during lunch to make sure that everything was running smoothly. She did a great job with the event. We have also been spending a lot of time together outside of class because of softball, which has been super fun.
Concerns/Change: One concern I have is the dedication of certain individuals in the class. There are a lot of people that are getting lazy as the school year nears the end. I think that it was great that we had an accountability discussion with the class because I hope it will serve as a wake-up call for a lot of students in the class.
Positive Comment: I would like to give my positive comment to Spencer. He has been working super hard all year and he has always done an amazing job in this class. I am so happy that his future plans are working out and all of his hard work has been validated. He has been a really big help for me this year, especially in calculus. He always takes the time to explain certain concepts to me and he pushes me to learn as much as possible, which I am super grateful for. I look forward to seeing all of the amazing things he does in the future at UCLA!
Core Principles: The core principles that I have been following the most for the past few months are"Your Puzzle Piece Matters", "Evolve and Grow with Change", and "Be Impeccable". I think I need to work on "The Beacon of Empowerment" more because I have been experiencing a lack of motivation recently. "Senioritis" is catching up to me and it has impacted my work ethic. I am starting to get over it and focus on doing all of my work diligently so that I can finish strong. The end is near and I can almost see it, so I need to keep working hard to make sure that I am living to my fullest potential and holding myself accountable as I finish senior year.
My Impact: There has been a lot of drama going on with some of my underclassmen friends. I have been serving as a middle ground and giving them advice on how to handle different situations in a healthy and respectful way. Maturity has been an issue with a lot of the problems, so I am trying to serve as an example to them so that they can grow from their conflicts and respect each other in the end.
