Position Assessment: I have been making a lot of social media posts pertaining to athletics. I have made two posts announcing weekly sporting events. I made two posts to advertise powder puff sign ups at club rush. The athletics team made two announcements. One was for powder puff sign ups and the other was to inform those who are participating in powder puff that they need to be athletically cleared. We are currently working on creating a remind for everyone who signed up for powder puff at club rush. There were 28 people who signed up to coach, 59 boys who signed up to cheer, and 137 girls who signed up to play.
Standing Committee: I am participating in link crew. We had a training day at the beginning of August to prepare for Freshmen Orientation. The event was a huge success. I enjoyed getting to know the freshmen in my group. My link crew partner and I gave them a tour of the campus and gave them advice for starting high school.
Special Committee: I was in the posters committee for the black out rally. We came to school early for two days to make posters publicizing the rally. Some of the posters were also used at the back to school dance.
Mentorship Evaluation: Lucia is my mentorship partner this year. She has been amazing to work with. I love her so much. We always collaborate in class when we are near each other and I know I am free to ask her any questions that I have. We have made a really good team so far and I hope that it continues for the duration of the year.
Concerns: My only concern right now is student involvement. Last year, my class didn't publicize homecoming events well. We didn't tell anyone about building the float or the night rally dance. I think that we need to do that this year and soon so that we can get our whole class involved instead of just leadership. It would be a great way to unite the junior class and get to know each other better. Not to mention, it would make the work load lighter if there are more people to help.
Positive Comment: Jenna Skavdahl has already started preparing for homecoming. I can see how hard she is working in and out of class to make this homecoming as successful as possible. I love working with her to create designs for the float and collaborating on other homecoming activities. She is also really positive at all times, which inspires me to be better.
Change: I would like to see a change in the classroom dynamics. I feel like everyone tries to surround themselves with the same people instead of getting to know the rest of the class. I think that we should do a team bonding activity with the class to meet everyone new and talk with classmates that we don't usually talk to.
My Impact: I have made an impact on the student body by publicizing upcoming events. I think that our announcements and Instagram posts impacted sign-ups this year. We had so many guys sign up to cheer, which was unexpected. Bringing back guy cheer and making it the best it has ever been is my goal for this season and I think that my publicity is already making an impact.

Position Assessment: September is the busiest month of the year for athletics commissioners. We are in charge of hosting the annual powder puff game, which requires a lot of hard work and preparation. In August, we had a table at club rush for powder puff sign ups. After the event, we created an announcement form to tell the student body that we would have a mandatory meeting on September 8. The meeting went really well and we had a large turn out. We started practicing the next week, and we held practices 9/13, 9/15, 9/20, 9/22, 9/27, and 9/29. We created announcement forms and Instagram posts to publicize practices so that no one would forget to attend. We created an official roster to give to Mr. Wright to make sure that all players and cheerleaders were athletically cleared. On October 3 and 4, we handed out jerseys to all of the players. We also created three Instagram posts for the week of homecoming to publicize the event. Powder puff was on October 6. We were in charge of obtaining footballs, flags, referees, chain gang volunteers, and announcers. We were able to get all of these volunteers and host an amazing event that raised a lot of money for our program.
Standing Committee: I am a part of Link Crew. We did not do any activities in September.
Special Committee: I was a part of the red carpet and lights committee for the homecoming candidate reveal rally. I was also a part of the float committee, along with the lemonade stand and lip sync committee for my class. We built the float and the lemonade stand at my house and we practiced for the lip sync at Mistlin.
Mentorship Evaluation: I have loved working with Lucia! We always help each other inside and outside of class. She did amazing with everything involving homecoming this year. She was a huge help with the float and all other spirit competitions. She is someone I look up to and I am very happy to have her as my mentor. It has definitely made us closer friends.
Concerns: My main concern is the tension between the junior class. It was pretty bad before and during homecoming. I think that at times, people were trying to work against each other instead of with. I think that there are some people that lack leadership in our class and it needs to be addressed. I will say that there is not as much tension as there was before now that homecoming is over, but we all remember how it was and it will be difficult to forget as the school year goes on.
Positive Comment: I would like to shout out Kade and Nate for doing an amazing job with powder puff this year. I really enjoy working with both of them because we all put in our best efforts. Kade is a great leader and does a great job with every event he puts on. He is always responsible and gets the job done. Despite it being Nate's first year as an athletics commissioner, he did a great job taking charge and helping out this year. I definitely see a lot of potential in him to be an amazing leader.
Change: One thing I would like to change in our class is the negativity. There is a lot of talking behind people's backs and talking bad about people. We are supposed to be leaders and good examples. I don't think that we are doing our job as the leaders of our campus. We need to stop gossiping about people and acting immature. I think that this would make our class so much more enjoyable and fun because no one wants to go to a class where all people do is talk bad about you and the people around you.
My Impact: I stepped up a lot this year and played a big role with homecoming. I designed the float and hosted the building at my house. We also worked on the lemonade stand at my house, so I created committees for people that came to help. I split them up into painting, cutting, building, etc. I was really proud of Jenna, Devin, and Lucia. They showed up the most and really helped with everything homecoming related. We all worked extremely hard to make homecoming enjoyable for our class. The whole experience was really eye-opening for me.

Position Assessment: This is not a busy time of year for athletics commissioners. We ordered the plaque for the powder puff winners. We made posts for athlete of the month, trying to include all sports. We have also been working on making posts for all of our seniors who participated in sports this season. A lot of seniors did not send in pictures, so we were trying to find a solution for that problem. Other than that, I have been helping my class plan for the holiday tree competition and winterfest.
Standing Committee: I am a part of Link Crew. We did not do any activities in September. I am also a part of the Spirit committee for spirit counts every dress up day. For October, I helped with Friday spirit days and I also helped during “Dude Be Nice” week.
Special Committee: I have been involved with a few different special committees this month. I participated in the “Dude Be Nice” rally by assisting the junior class when needed and by writing Miss Van Vuren a card because she was our winner this year. I am also a team leader for the CASL project. Our topic is about how our class has learned from failure this year, so my group has been brainstorming ideas on how we have done that and I have started the write-up.
Concerns: My only concern is that some work days weren’t being used wisely. I saw a lot of people talking and on their phones while the rest of the class was working. I find it disrespectful and distracting when people are being loud and obnoxious while there are people in class that actually need to get work done. I think that if we do more workdays, some people need to quiet down a bit.
Positive Comment: My positive comment goes to the Junior class. I know that the officers are working diligently to get ahead for the Christmas tree competition and Winterfest. They also did a great job with “Dude Be Nice” and I think the event was very successful.
Change: One change I would like to see in class is everyone working together effectively. I think that some people are taking advantage of our time in that class to do other things, whether that be working for another class or not working at all.
My Impact: I joined leadership to play a part in school activities and create an inclusive environment on campus. With my help, along with the rest of the leadership class, I have been able to accomplish this. I am making an impact by participating in events and helping to plan events. Currently, I am helping the Junior class prepare for Winterfest in January.

Position Assessment: This is not a busy time of year for athletics commissioners. We made posts for athlete of the month, trying to include all sports. We planned a little routine for Spencer and Gideon's video, along with coordinating outfits. We also started talking about dodgeball in the Spring and planning on how we can make improvements from last year. Other than that, I have been helping my class plan for winterfest by designing our giant gym poster and shopping cart float. I was also a leader for my CASL group and we discussed how our class adapts to failure, which was eye opening for all of us. I brainstormed ideas with my group, and then wrote the essay on my own.
Standing Committee: I am a part of Link Crew. We had study buddy night on December 12 and 13 which was super fun and a successful event. I am also a part of the Spirit committee for spirit counts every dress up day. For November and December, I helped with Friday spirit days and I also helped during winterfest.
Special Committee: I was a part of the door decorating committee, along with the rest of my class. I was grouped with Jenna, Mak, and Kaiya, which was super fun. We got a difficult group of doors on campus, so we did the best that we could with measurements and cutting and they actually turned out pretty great. It was awesome to see all of the decorated doors around campus to spread the Christmas spirit. Another Christmas themed special committee was the holiday trees, which I helped the juniors with by picking a theme and helping set it up in the gym. was also involved with the CASL reports because I was the group leader.
Mentorship Evaluation: I love working with Lucia. We help each other with assignments from this class and other classes. Mentoring each other has made us closer friends because we work together often in Leadership and we get lunch together on occasion to catch up.
Concerns: One concern I would like to address is that more and more people are showing up late to class. I don't know why they think that they can show up whenever it's convenient for them. This is a class like any other that these people have throughout the day, so it is concerning to see that many people don't care enough to be punctual. I hope that this is not a reflection of their performance in this class as well because I think that there are some people that are lacking effort in this class.
Positive Comment: I really enjoyed the thorns and roses activity that we did as a class. I think that it helped me to get to know my classmates a little better and understand their current situations. I know that it was difficult for me to share my negatives because it required me to be vulnerable, but I did it and it wasn't that bad. I think that we should do activities like that as a class more often because I think that it was a good way to get our minds off of school and enjoy each other's company.
Change: One change I would like to see is more involvement from commissioners. I think that some people get too comfortable with not working because they aren't in the middle of planning an event, but there are other people that could use help. I always try and help the junior class with upcoming events so that I am showing my continuous support, which I think needs to be seen more in and out of class from others.
My Impact: The theme I chose for this school year has been to inspire others. I have been working hard to stay positive and set a good example for my classmates. For spirit days, I always dress up to inspire those who may not be as outgoing to dress up as well. I have also been interacting with new people. I have made a surprising amount of underclassmen friends this year, which is super awesome. I like to be able to connect with them and help guide them throughout high school, especially freshmen.

Position Assessment: I made posts for athlete of the month, trying to include all winter sports like soccer, wrestling, and basketball. I also made posts weekly for the athletics schedule. We started planning for dodgeball in March and discussing how we can make improvements from last year. We plan to have a meeting with Perez soon and start publicizing the event. Other than that, I helped my class with Winterfest activities, such as making the poster and the shopping cart.
Standing Committee: I am a part of Link Crew. There are no events at this time.
Special Committee: I helped set up for the winterfest night rally and set up the giant poster before the winterfest kick-off rally. I discovered I am in charge of the Tribe Awards committee for the end of the year, but I have not started working on that yet.
Mentorship Evaluation: I am so grateful that I got Kaiya as my mentor because we have become really good friends this year. We had lunch together in the library because it was cold outside. It was super fun to spend extra time together at school.
Concerns: One concern I would like to address is that there are some students that are lacking motivation in the class because they are not rejoining the program next year. They made a commitment and they need to follow through with it until the school year is over. It is frustrating to see people not trying or helping in class while many others are working hard to keep the program running.
Positive Comment: My positive comment goes to Jenna Skavdahl. She has worked really hard recently, especially with the hearts project. I am so glad that she is running for ASB President because I think that she would do an amazing job in that role. I look forward to what is to come.
Change: One change I would like to see is more comradery within the leadership class. I think that having new mentors helps, but I think we can all do a better job at getting to know people in class that we don't usually talk to.
My Impact: I have been trying to be positive and help out as much as possible in class, even if I don't have to. I think that helping others without being asked is a huge part of this program and I try to do it as much as possible. I am also trying to stay true to myself as election weeks come up because I do not want to get caught up in the drama of it all.

1. Committees: I am a part of the gift to students committee, which is the End of the Year Dance. I organized pick up and drop off of my popcorn machine for the dance with Jenna. I also helped Sofia make the PO by telling her how much butter, popcorn, salt, and oil we will need to provide enough food for everyone who attends the dance.
2. Contribution: I was absent the first three days this week, so I have not been as involved as I would have wanted to be, but I completed the slide for the project for my group. It was about identifying the incentives for why students should attend the End of the Year Dance, which was easy because there are so many reasons.
3. In Charge: During the week of the challenge, I will be in charge of bringing the popcorn machine to the dance and bringing it home after the dance. I will also be in charge of making sure that it is cleaned after the dance with the help of my classmates. Other than that specific job, I will help wherever I can to make sure that the week runs smoothly.
4. Pros: One pro that I saw while planning the events for the week is that everyone was working together and I have not seen anyone not participating in the work that needs to be done. We have worked efficiently and everything has been turned in on time. I think that it is going a lot smoother than last year in terms of time efficiency and how well we work together as a class.
5. Cons: I don't know if this even counts as a con, but some people got their work done so fast that there was not a lot to do on some days. I think that time management is good, but maybe we should do more to fill the time and bring more to the event. It may not be necessary, but it is just a thought to fill the empty time in class.
6. Presentation: I will be speaking about the incentives for attending the End of the Year Dance during the formal presentation. The main reason why students should go to the dance is because there will be lots of food, carnival games, and overall fun before the start of summer.
7. Opinion: I think that the idea of the event is super creative and I love that it is a kickoff to the summer because I think that everyone is looking forward to it at this point. I think that as long as everyone executes their job, the idea will come to life beautifully.
8. Successful or Unsuccessful: I think that the event is planned extremely well and everyone knows what their job is, so it should be successful.
9. Consequences: I know that everyone in class has gotten the same grade on the challenge in the past, but if someone failed to fulfill their duties, they should get docked on points personally because it is not everyone's responsibility to do their job.
10. Favorite: My favorite part of this event is the End of the Year Dance, so it is also the event I am looking forward to the most. It sounds like it is going to be super fun because there are so many fun things that will be happening this year, instead of just a dance. If some people are not comfortable dancing, they can go and play some carnival games. I think that it is much more inclusive than other dances have been in the past which is super amazing.

Position Assessment: We hosted the annual dodgeball tournament at the end of March. It was very successful. A lot of hard work went into the event, such as making Instagram posts, communicating with Perez, hosting meetings for the teams, getting referees, getting volleyballs from the PE teachers, and being present at every game. It was super fun to host an activity that involves the whole school. After the event, we completed a procedure form and sent out thank you cards to everyone that helped make the event successful. Other than dodgeball, the Athletics Commissioners have not been busy. I have worked on Athlete of the Month and I have done other things to help out the leadership class.
Standing Committee: I am not participating in a standing committee at this time.
Special Committee: I was in charge of the Tribe Awards committee. The event was on April 20, and it was a huge success. There were about thirty staff participants who chose an award winner this year. Leading up to the event, I ordered a balloon arch and helped Morty with any other tasks that needed to be done before the ceremony. On the day of, I set up a balloon arch with the help of the class and cleaned the North gym. I attended the ceremony, and it was emotional at times. After it was over, I helped clean everything up and make sure that all of the leadership belongings in the gym were put away.
Mentorship Evaluation: My mentor for this semester is Kaiya. I have loved having her as my mentor because she is one of my best friends. We spend time together outside of class often because I enjoy her company. She has been a great mentor and someone I look up to, even though she is younger. Kaiya is a true leader and I love how confident she is in everything that she does. I love her to death and I am going to miss her in class next year.
Concerns: One concern I would like to address is the amount of people in class that are using the class period as a break time instead of helping their other classmates. There is a lot going on in class right now, but there are still people that are sitting on their phones and not participating in class activities. I hope that this is fixed by the end of the year so that we can all work together as a class before we get out of school.
Positive Comment: I would like to give a shout out to Jenna because she has gone above and beyond to prepare for the next school year. She is going to make an amazing ASB President because she is always prepared for everything and works hard to make sure every event goes perfectly. She does so much work behind the scenes that deserves to be recognized, so I am acknowledging her efforts. I am so excited to work together with her because she is going to lead the class in amazing ways.
Change: One change I would like to see is making sure that the whole class is making deadlines and not turning in late work. I know that I have been guilty of this as well and I take responsibility for that, but I think it has become a widespread thing throughout the class. I hope that next year we won't get lazy and that we would make sure that we are meeting deadlines at all times because it is a part of being a leader.
My Impact: I have already started working on projects for senior year. I have gotten the whole future senior class involved in planning senior sunrise because there have been concerns about the location in the past. I let them have a say in the decision because it is their senior year too and they deserve to be represented in the leadership class. They ultimately decided that they would rather have the event at Mistlin instead of the catwalk where we have had it in the past, so that is probably where I will plan to host it.
